Design is everything
It’s essential our design team become familiar with any space - its colours, textures and materials - taking the time to understand the specific resonances a place holds. This process can’t be rushed. It’s the vital context in which to dream up the perfect idea.

Exploring a brief
Following a call or site visit, our designers, led by George Howarth, create a number of pencil sketches exploring themes from the design brief.

Shape & Flow
Once a sketch is selected, the design process turns to creating a scaled drawing that shows the different colour, shape and flow lines of pebbles to be used.

The finer detail
The final design is then transferred to the computer to be blown up and carefully broken down into the individual sections that will be created in the workshop.

To the workshop
With full size patterns reversed and printed, the workshop is prepped and the pebble mosaic artists briefed ready to begin the fabrication process.

“Design is everything. I like to play. I like to exaggerate rather than aim for the naturalistic. That’s how I find the essence of something”
