The fountain in Aldershot War Memorial Garden, had long been derelict; & the restoration project required much thought to ensure durability & vandal proofing. From the fountain, the water spreads over the pebble mosaics which form an octagon with inclined planes. Water ripples over the surface in a lively, sparkling layer, showing the bright colours of the various fish designs. The water then drains away at the perimeter; a useful idea in a city centre where a pool might collect rubbish.
